Kanazoé Orkestra returns with their highly anticipated fourth album, "Balabeatz"(Antipodes Music, 2025), offering a truly unique musical experience where traditional Mandika mystical griot culture converses with urban production from Nigeria and South Africa, and where musical virtuosity and trance converge with electronic and dance floor energy.
Led by balafon virtuoso Seydou “Kanazoé” Diabaté, and formed in France after Seydou’s journey from Burkina Faso, the band unites artists from both continents and is no stranger to the spotlight. Their debut album, “Miriya” (2015), was hailed as one of 2016’s best African albums.
They followed this success with “Tolonso” in 2019 and “Folikadi” in 2022, touring extensively across France, Europe, and Africa. “Balabeatz” sets a new bar, crafting a sound that is not only powerful and musically innovative but also resonates with socially conscious messages.
