PAUL DUHANEY
Paul Duhaney is the Artistic Director for Africa Oyé in Liverpool - the UK’s largest celebration of African and Caribbean Music and Culture. Now in his 27th year of working for the organisation, he is responsible for the development of their annual music festival, concerts, and educational projects across the UK. Since Paul took the helm as Artistic Director, Oyé has won LCR Culture & Creativity Awards for International Reach and the publicly voted, People’s Choice prize. Oyé was also shortlisted for a National Diversity Award in 2024. Paul himself was named the Merseyside Male Achiever of the Year in 2010 and nominated for Promoter of the Year at the UK Festival Awards in 2017. Paul is a founding board member for the charity Mandela8 who have honoured Nelson Mandela with a memorial in Liverpool. Paul was awarded an Honorary Doctorate of Music from the University of Liverpool in 2024.
