Born in 1990 in Guinea-Bissau and raised in Cape Verde, Fattú Djakité is a talented singer, songwriter, visual artist, and social activist. Her artistic journey began when she took one of her songs to the radio and met singer Princezito. She won third place in the 2012 Estrela Pop competition in Cape Verde. In 2019, Fattú founded the Cape Verdean band Azágua and represented Cape Verde at Expo Dubai 2020. Recognized for her influence, she has received several awards, including “Best Female Performer” at the Cape Verde Music Awards, and was named one of the 100 most influential Lusophone personalities by Bantumen, a platform dedicated to the black culture of lusophony that promotes the diversity of viewpoints and sensibilities of Afro-descendant communities across Portuguese-speaking countries. Her album Praia Bissau (2022) further solidified her impact on the music scene.
