Mangle Sonoro
Mangle Sonoro is a Colombian ensemble bringing together musicians from Roberto Payán, Buenaventura, Quibdó, and Cali. Rooted in the traditional music of Colombia’s Pacific coast, their sound also embraces influences from across the world, creating a vibrant and contemporary musical language.
Winners of the 2025 Petronio Álvarez Festival in the Free Category — Colombia’s most important festival dedicated to Afro-Pacific music — the group also received awards for Best Arrangement and Best Vocal Performance, standing out for both their artistic strength and exceptional musicianship.
Inspired by the mangrove ecosystem as a symbol of interconnectedness, Mangle Sonoro builds its music collectively, where every element is deeply connected and gains meaning through the others. From this perspective, tradition is understood as a living force — constantly evolving, inspiring exploration, innovation, and the creation of a unique sonic identity.
