Chuskupura

Chuskupura is a fresh take on contemporary Andean music, formed in 2019 by young musicians from the Kichwa Otavalo and Kichwa Puruwá communities. With a powerful fusion of ancestral and contemporary sounds, the band reinvents the traditional music of the Kichwa people of Ecuador with original compositions that incorporate modern harmonies, creating a unique sound that resonates with new generations while remaining true to its roots.

In 2023, they released their first EP, TIKRAMUY, a collection of six original tracks that conveys strength, identity, and community. In 2024, they released two singles that marked their artistic evolution: Urpigulla, a danceable and emotive track inspired by Kichwa Cayambi and Karanki rhythms, and Karuyan, a powerful sonic exploration set to the rhythm of Inti Raymi. Chuskupura continues to grow with a unique and soulful approach that blends tradition and innovation.
