Almir & Daniel

Almir Meskovic and Daniel Lazar both have more than 20 years of experience with classical and folk music behind them. With their roots from the Balkans mixed with Scandinavian elements, this duo has unique features. They blend a wide range og styles and genres, ranging from Balkan rhythms, Scandinavian folk, to improvisation and Gypsy music. Almir was born in Bosnia and Daniel was born in Serbia.

They have grown up with folk music in the heart of the Balkans, where music and cultures from around the world meet and break. Gypsy music, klezmer, classic and everything in between (Norwegian folk music, among other things). However, it was in Norway that they got to know each other at the master ́s programs at the Norwegian Academy of Music, and there they developed their own expression that gets the most beautiful out of accordion and fiddle, with inspiration from all epochs and styles.
