Sponsorship Opportunities

With patronage from one of the broadest and most culturally diverse audiences in Canada – setting record attendance of more than 250,000 annual visits and leading to over eight million dollars in local spending – TD Sunfest and its ancillary year-round programming represents an exceptionally valuable sponsorship property for any like-minded company wishing to leverage its promotional opportunities.

Current multi-year Sunfest sponsors range from top national/international corporations like TD Bank (title festival sponsor), Stingray Digital, Pizza Pizza, GoodLife Fitness and Creemore Brewery to exemplary locally-owned businesses, such as London Audio, Corporate Imaging and Summit Properties.

In addition to delivering phenomenal festival attendance with a highly coveted demographic, TD Sunfest offers a unique synergy generated by the following attributes:

  • One of the best known and most clearly defined brand names of any organization in London and region
  • London’s signature summer tourist attraction, drawing a burgeoning number of patrons from Windsor/Detroit and the Greater Toronto Area – in fact, each year, bringing loyal fans from as far away as Dayton, Ohio; Chicago, Illinois and beyond.
  • An artistic line-up praised as one of the best in the country, leading to recognition of TD Sunfest as “one of the top three festivals in Canada” (musician Jonathan Bernard, Vancouver, B.C.), which has “captured an edge in ‘quality performance’ that is unmatched in the Ontario market” (former Big Rock Brewery sales rep. Rick Doyle).
  • Festival sponsorship affords our corporate partners access to extensive promotion at the local, regional, national and international levels. Media outlets that regularly spotlight TD Sunfest through significant editorial and/or advertising coverage include CTV London, Radio-Canada (Ontario), NOW Magazine (Toronto) and Metro Times (Detroit).

We invite highly motivated prospective sponsors to contact Greg Hanbuch, Sunfest’s Director of Sales & Sponsorship to discuss their ideas for mutually beneficial projects and marketing campaigns available for an investment of $5,000 and up.

Please note: The Sunfest Committee does not post online generic sponsorship primers, but, rather, prefers to customize a package for each new partner.

Educational/School programs

Out of its belief in the importance of introducing new audiences to the beauty of the global arts, the Sunfest Committee has devised a special series of outreach concerts for London and area elementary and secondary school students. In previous seasons hundreds of children enjoyed BLACK UMFOLOSI 5 (Zimbabwe), and GENTICORUM (Canada). Known for their electrifying, interactive performances, these ensembles are ideal catalysts for the imaginations of young audience members. Sunfest’s educational concerts are unlike anything else that London and area students normally encounter in their school day. With the support of officers from the Board of Education, we have set up a special Teachers’ Committee to coordinate this program and so maximize attendance and awareness opportunities for students.

Music teacher and Sunfest school concerts organizer Dave Nuttal from London’s Jack Chambers Public School believes wholeheartedly in the benefits of the program. He writes as follows:

“Thousands of children (and adults) have had their lives broadened and their enjoyment of life deepened by these world-class concerts. I still have former students returning years after they have graduated from my school telling me how the Sunfest concerts remain a highlight of their elementary experience. Many students go on to explore more world music and bring their families downtown to experience Sunfest in Victoria Park in July. Every year, some students reveal that this experience was one of the first times their family ever went downtown together.”

Sunfest’s unique school concerts not only enhance the arts education element of the curriculum: through the vital interaction enjoyed between students and performers, they also help connect Canadian artists to their most important new audience base. Once again this year, we are targeting our in-school performances/workshops to children whose backgrounds normally would not predispose them to encountering diverse sights and sounds from around the world. By sharing with students the joy of the global arts, we hope to make a positive difference in the ways in which they relate to people of different cultural origins and traditions.
